Dr. G. Vijay Kumar Yadav, an eminent artist based in Malleshwaram, Bengaluru, is known for transforming faces, emotions, and moments into vivid expressions through his signature style of instant sketching. As the founder of Art for Heart, a creative sanctuary for young talents, Dr. Yadav has inspired many with his rare combination of speed, soul, and sincerity in art.
A true listener, he is often described as “an artist who listens to every view and gives life to each painting.” Whether it’s a live portrait on stage or a thoughtful piece in solitude, his art captures not just likeness but spirit. His swift sketches even aided the Rameshwaram Café bomb blast investigation, showcasing how art can serve society.
Dr. Yadav has created stunning portraits of many political luminaries, including former Union Minister D. V. Sadananda Gowda and the iconic M. G. Ramachandran (MGR). During a live event where Dr. Yadav painted MGR on stage, D. V. Sadananda Gowda was so moved that he called him “the best painter ever” in front of a cheering audience.
Another defining moment came when former President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee, personally appreciated Dr. Yadav after witnessing his two-dimensional portrait. Stunned by the lifelike rendering, the President reportedly asked in awe, “Is this even possible?”
According to Dr Vijay sharing his knowledge and passion with the next generation is a privilege, a way to nurture the creative spark that exists within each of us.
Honors have followed naturally—Dr. Yadav received the Aryabhatta Award 2025 for excellence in fine arts, the Sardar Patel Unity Award for fostering harmony through art, and an Honorary Doctorate from the International University of California.
